Huang Shiqi, professor, was born in Loudi, Hunan Province in August 1974. He graduated from China Agricultural University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Management Technology in 1998. In 2004 and 2008, he received his master's degree and doctor's degree in information and information processing from the Rocket Force Engineering University of the PLA, respectively. Since March 2019, he has been engaged in teaching and scientific research in School of Automation, Xi 'an University of Posts and Telecommunications.
He has presided over 12 projects, including 1 general project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 special project of China Postdoctoral Foundation and 1 general project, 2 natural science foundation projects of Shaanxi Province, etc. He has participated in more than 10 projects, including 2 general projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 2 key research and development projects of Shaanxi Province, 2 major theoretical projects in the military, etc. He has published more than 140 academic papers, including more than 20 SCI papers, more than 60 EI papers, 3 academic monographs, and 6 authorized invention patents. He has taught many courses for undergraduate and graduate students, such as "Digital Image Processing", "Digital Image Technology", "Remote Sensing Technology and Application", "High Frequency Electronic Circuits", "Fundamentals of Synthetic Aperture Radar", "Modern Signal Processing", "Knowledge of Military Services" and so on.
He has won more than 30 awards and honors. 2 items such as military progress prize in science and technology prize, second prize in item 1 of the shaanxi province colleges and universities science and technology prize, second prize of provincial excellent teaching achievement prizes at the 3 items, and all the outstanding doctoral dissertation, the national hundred outstanding doctoral dissertation nomination, shaanxi province outstanding science and technology papers award item 3, the rockets the best paper award of science and technology 9 and the ninth in shaanxi youth science and so on.
His research interests include information acquisition and intelligent processing, remote sensing image processing and application, target detection and classification recognition, dynamic monitoring and change information acquisition, big data analysis and application, etc.
A. Prof. Faming Huang

Background: Dr. Huang is acknowledged as an outstanding young scholar who is striving for excellence in risk assessment of geological hazards. He was awarded as an excellent reviewer for the journal of Bulletin of Geological Science and Technology” in 2020. He served as the editor-in-chief of the special issue “Failure Mechanisms, Prediction, and Risk Assessment of Natural and Engineering Disasters through Machine Learning and Numerical Simulation” in the journal Advanced in Civil Engineering in 2020, as well as the editor-in-chief of the special issue “Spatial Modelling and Failure Analysis of Natural and Engineering Disasters through Data-based Methods” in the journal Frontiers in Earth Science in 2021. Dr. Huang is served as reviewers for a lot of famous SCI journals, such as Frontiers in Earth Science, Landslides, Engineering Geology, CATENA, Environmental Earth Science, Remote Sensing, et al. What is more, Dr. Huang now is invited as the editors of the journals of “Bulletin of Geological Science and Technology” and “International Journal of Applied Nonlinear Science”.
Expertise: Dr. Huang was selected into the high-level innovative talent project of Jiangxi Province in 2019. Dr. Huang distinguishes himself from other researchers by combining rigorous landslide susceptibility prediction techniques and advanced machine learning models. He has had a significant impact on the landslide susceptibility mapping. This is confirmed by the facts that one of his publications in this area was selected as a hot paper published in CATENA, and three of his publications in this area were selected as highly cited papers published in Landslides and Remote Sensing in the past two years. Dr. Huang has also studied the fundamental issues for developing accurate and robust models for the soil erosion modulus calculation, landslide failure mechanism analysis, landslides monitoring and displacement time series prediction.
Impact: Dr. Huang has established himself as an excellent researcher in landslide susceptibility prediction in engineering geology. This is evidenced by an exponentially accelerating citation rate. His work on the landslides, slope stability analysis, machine learning, “3S” technology, landslide time series prediction is well cited in the literature. He has an H-index of 21 in Google Scholar, where he now attracts more than 600 citations per year. His top 20 cited papers have all been published after 2017. Considering the relatively low citation rates in geological engineering and the young age of his publications, his current citation counts are outstanding and confirm the academic impact of his research.
